Loot Party Bags For Kids

Send kids home with loot bags after your child's birthday party.

Loot bags, also known as goody bags or party favor bags, include small gifts given to all the guests at the end of a party. While kids love loot party bags, it can be difficult to collect small gifts for each guest without breaking the bank. Surprise your child's guests with creative loot bags.

Candy

Place a bag of homemade cookies in each loot party bag.

Candy offers a cheap way to fill up goody bags. Look for large bags of individually wrapped candy, chocolate and gum. Tie a lollipop to each bag with a ribbon for extra pizazz. Bake cookies and include a plastic bag of these homemade treats in each loot bag. Include a copy of the recipe--parents will be able to check the ingredients if their child has food allergies.

Healthy Snacks

Choose such items as oranges, apples and bananas to provide a healthy alternative to candy and cookies. Buy small, individually wrapped bags of snacks, or save money and buy big bags of each snack item. Fill plastic sandwich bags or decorative food bags with pretzels, nuts, dried fruit or trail mix. Add the snack bags to the fresh fruit to fill out your loot party bags for kids. If a child has a nut allergy, replace her bag of nuts with another item, such as raisins.

Summer Toys

Inflatable beach balls work well as loot bag gifts.

If your party will be held during the spring or summer, include such small toys as bottles of bubbles, inexpensive sunglasses, beach balls and sidewalk chalk. You also can add small water toys or water guns in neon colors.

Crafts

Create loot party bags with a craft theme. Include stamps, stamp pads, stickers, small coloring books, crayons, markers, foam cutouts and glitter glue.

Girly Ideas

Add small bottles of nail polish to each loot bag.

Fill your goody bags with inexpensive jewelry, hair ties, body glitter and nail polish. Such gifts work well for girls who like to dress up. Pair this loot bag idea with a princess-themed party.

Gift Certificates

Buy inexpensive gift certificates and add them to the loot bags. For example, include a gift certificate for an ice cream cone, a cookie or a milkshake at a local restaurant or bakery. You also can include gift certificates to an area movie theater.

Mix CD

Create a mix CD for a quick, inexpensive gift idea. Help your child choose his favorite songs for the playlist. Play the songs during the party. Include a copy of the CD in each loot bag.
