Instructions
1. Purchase a lampshade with a self-adhesive surface.
2. Remove the paper covering the adhesive surface, exposing the tackiness of the lampshade.
3. Using the paper covering as a pattern, trace an outline onto the back of the fabric you want to use to cover the self-adhesive lampshade.
4. Cut the fabric along your markings so it's the exact size of the pattern.
5. Apply the fabric to the self-adhesive lampshade. Run your fingers around the fabric to smooth any gaps or bubbles.
6. Trim any excess fabric, if there is any, off the top and the bottom of the lampshade.
7. Glue braided gimp to the top and bottom of the lightshade with a hot glue gun to hide the exposed edges of your fabric.
Tips Warnings
If you want a lamp with a formal look, consider lining the inside of the lampshade with heavy gold paper to reflect the light and add a warm glow to the room.
