Remove The Arm On A Ge Dishwasher

Check the arms on your GE dishwasher two or three times a year to make sure that the spray holes are not blocked and that no cracks have developed. If your arms have cracks, you must replace them because they will no longer spray water in the correct locations. You can order the parts from the GE support website and replace them yourself to save the cost of a service call.

Instructions

1. Unplug the dishwasher.

2. Remove the mid-level arm by first pulling the upper rack all the way out. Note the direction of the locking tabs where the spray arm connects to the upper rack and push or pull the spray arm as necessary to unlock the arm assembly and remove it from the rack.

3. Remove the lower arm by using a screwdriver to release the two tabs on the bottom of the wash arm hub--the vertical piece that supports the lower arm--where it connects to the bottom of the dishwasher. The lower arm may appear to be a separate piece from the hub, but it isn't. The replacement part includes both the hub and the arm.

4. Turn the hub clockwise to unscrew and remove it.
