Replace The Front Signal Lights In A Ford Mustang

When one of the front signal lights on your Ford Mustang burns out, be sure to replace it immediately to avoid causing an accident on the road. Once you've ordered the correct replacement bulb, you can install it easily in just a few minutes. These instructions don't apply to Mustang models made before 1994.

Instructions

Replacing 1994 to 2005 Models

1. Pop the hood using the hood release latch beneath the instrument panel. Then, activate the auxiliary release latch beneath the center of the hood to lift it open.

2. Grab the rear edge of the plastic radiator cover behind the headlamp assembly and pull it up and away from the assembly (2005 models only).

3. Draw the headlamp assembly forward a bit to expose the electrical connectors.

4. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.

5. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and replace it with the new bulb.

6. Test the new bulb to make sure it works before replacing the assembly and closing the hood.

Replacing 2006 and Later Models

7. Locate the rear side of the headlamp assembly from beneath the car. Once you've found the assembly, find the bulb socket containing the malfunctioning bulb.

8. Turn the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it from the assembly.

9. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and replace it with the new bulb.

10. Test the new bulb to make sure it works.

Tips Warnings

Make sure the headlamp switch is set to OFF before you begin. Engage the emergency break and remove the keys from the ignition for added safety.

Check the signal lamp diagram in your Mustang Owner's Manual if you're unsure of which bulb to replace.
