Change Delta Faucet Handles

Update the look of your bathroom with new faucet handles.

One way to update the look of your bathroom is to change your Delta faucet handles. There is no need to remove and install new bathroom fixtures. When changing your Delta faucet it is important that you purchase handles that will be compatible with your faucet. Purchase single- or double-handle faucets that match the color of your current faucets and are for the correct type of faucet, namely, sink faucet handles for sink faucets and bath faucet handles for the tub and shower faucets.

Instructions

Knob Faucet Handles

1. Turn the water supply off to the faucet for which you are replacing handles.

2. Pry the decorative cap off the top center of the faucet handle with a small flathead screwdriver.

3. Turn the center handle screw counterclockwise with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The center screw is the screw in the center of the handle that secures the handle to the faucet stem or cartridge.

4. Pull the faucet handle straight off of the faucet. Place the new faucet handles over the faucet stem or cartridge until the handle seats in the faucet body.

5. Secure the faucet handle to the faucet with the retaining screw. Push the decorative cap into place with your thumb until the cap locks into position.

Lever Faucet Handles

6. Locate the set screw that secures the faucet handle. The set screw will be toward the faucet body pointing away from the faucet.

7. Remove the set screw with an appropriate size Allen wrench. Pull the handle off the faucet.

8. Insert the glide ring into the new faucet handle. The glide ring comes with the new handle and sets inside the bottom of the handle. The faucet will ride on this glide ring when you turn the faucet. Slide the faucet handle over the faucet stem until it seats on top of the faucet body.

9. Secure the faucet handle to the faucet with the retaining set screw.
