Set Up The Toshiba Sdv296 Tunerless Vcr To A Cable Box

The Toshiba SD-V296 is a VCR/DVD combo player that features a black exterior, JPEG photo viewer, VHS recording capability, 24-bit DVD audio processor, component video output connections and a supplied remote control. Although the Toshiba SD-V296 does not include an integrated television tuner, you have the option to connect a compatible cable box to the VCR/DVD player. Connecting the Toshiba SD-V296 to your cable box will enable you to record television shows, movies or other broadcast media, using the VHS recording option. (Reference 1)


Instructions


1. Turn off the television, DVD/VCR and cable box. (Reference 2)


2. Connect one pair of RCA cables to the television's corresponding color-coded AUDIO/VIDEO IN RCA jacks, located at the rear. Connect the remaining RCA cable plugs to the DVD/VCR's corresponding RCA jacks, labeled AUDIO OUT and VIDEO OUT, located under DVD/VCR. (Reference 2)


3. Connect the second pair of RCA cables to the DVD/VCR's AUDIO IN and VIDEO IN connections, located under VCR. Connect the other ends of the RCA cables to the AUDIO OUT and VIDEO OUT connections found at the rear of the cable box. (Reference 2)


4. Turn on the cable box, television and DVD/VCR. Switch the television's input selection to the appropriate connection source for the DVD/VCR. (Reference 2)


5. Press the INPUT SELECT button on the DVD/VCR's remote control, until L1 and your regular cable programing appears on the television. (Reference 2)
