Unlock A Locking Self Cleaning Amana Electric Range

Unlock a self-cleaning oven

Some Amana electric range stoves have a self-cleaning option. The self-cleaning cycle can be adjusted between two-and-a-half hours for minimal cleaning, or a Lo setting, to four-and-a-half hours, or Hi setting, for an oven that is heavily soiled. Once the cleaning is done, it will take an additional half hour for the oven to cool down. This stove will lock during the self-cleaning process to avoid injury. When the oven is cleaning, it gets very hot. You cannot unlock a self-cleaning oven until it is cool.

Instructions

1. Press the Timer button to turn off the oven. You can not unlock the Amana self-cleaning electric range when it is turned on. When the oven is locked, only the Clock, Oven Light and Timer buttons work.

2. Press the To Lock Hold button on stove's electric range.

3. Hold down the button for three seconds. You will hear a beep indicating that the self-cleaning electric range unlocked.
