Adjust A Grohe Thermostat

Grohe thermostats are designed to set your water temperature at a comfortable level. However, due to the differences in water temperature from different water heaters, your faucet might not produce the perfect showering water. If so, adjusting the thermostat is simple and takes about 10 minutes. All the owner needs to do is remove the handle and turn the knob. This project does not require any plumbing skills or specialized knowledge, just a simple tool.

Instructions

1. Take the handle cover off the thermostat. Remove the cap on the end of the temperature control handle and unscrew the screw beneath the cap with an Allen wrench. Slide the temperature control handle back off the faucet.

2. Turn on the water and place a thermometer under the water stream. Wait one to two minutes and check the temperature on the thermometer. An ideal reading is 100 degrees Fahrenheit. If the reading is below or above this, move to the next step.

3. Rotate the thermostat adjusting nut, the round part that is under the handle, clockwise or counterclockwise until the temperature reads 100 degrees Fahrenheit on the thermometer.

4. Put the slide ring, the round washer ring, on top of the adjusting nut.

5. Place the temperature control handle back on the faucet, aligned so the button on the handle faces up. Turn the set screw to tighten it and place the cap into the screw mounting hole.
