Install A Gigaware Microphone

Gigaware USB desktop microphones are designed to be used with computers and laptops. Although some computers feature a built-in mic, an external mic picks up more sound. That makes it a better option for people who record videos or hold video conferences, for example. USB devices are easy to install. Once connected, any required drivers will be installed automatically and the device will be ready to use.

Instructions

1. Connect the USB microphone to a free USB port on your computer.

2. Wait for any missing drivers to install. When this process is finished, a notification will appear above the system tray.

3. Click the start button and open Control Panel. Select Hardware and Sound. Scroll to the Sound section and select Manage Audio Devices. This will open a separate box.

4. Click the Recording tab to see the devices used for recording on your laptop. Select the installed microphone, click Set Default and click Apply.

5. Talk into the microphone while watching the audio devices box. The sound meter beside your installed microphone should rise to indicate that sound is being picked up.
