Clean A Scotsman Ice Machine

There are certain circumstances that will present evidence that means you will need to clean your Scotsman Ice Machine. If you find that you have smaller than usual ice cubes this is one indication that you need to clean your ice machine. Another sign of needed cleaning is if your ice is soft or cloudy.

Instructions

1. Remove the screws holding the front panel in place.

2. Remove the front panel and set aside.

3. Turn the power switch to the Off position.

4. Use one of the buckets to remove all of the ice from the storage compartment.

5. Remove the cover of the water reservoir and set aside. Use the wood block to prop the float up by sliding it under the float arm.

6. Use the tube that is attached to the water inlet to drain the water from the reservoir. You will need to lower the tub and pop off the end cap.

7. Return the tube to its original position, making sure to replace the end cap.

8. Prepare the ice machine cleaner as directed in the manufacturer's directions.

9. Fill the reservoir with the prepared cleaning solution until full. Let it sit for approximately 15 minutes and then turn the power switch to the On position.

10. Add more solution as needed to keep the reservoir full while running until you have used all of the cleaning solution that you prepared.

11. Turn the power switch to the Off position and repeat steps 6 and 7. Then, wash out the reservoir to remove excess cleaning solution. Remove the wood block at the float.

12. Turn the power switch back to the On position and replace the front panel, making sure to tighten the screws back in place.
