Bath beads, also known as bath pearls, are hard to the touch, oil-and-soap based and dissoluble. When placed in warm water they will nourish your skin and provide an aroma within the bath depending on the scent. Using bath pearls can be a relaxing experience when the mood is set right. They typically come in different varieties and scents.
Instructions
1. Pick out the type of bath beads you would like to use. Some common options include lavender, jasmine and chamomile scents. Using particular scents can be more soothing than others. According to the Aromatherapy section of Relaxation Tranquility Moments' website, many people use lavender help them relax and chamomile to provide a feeling of calmness which can help relieve stress.
2. Place or activate the stopper in your bathtub. Turn on the water and set the temperature to warm. Test the water with your foot or hand. Adjust the water where it is warm enough to relax your body but not hot where it will scorch your skin. This is a matter of personal preference. Let the tub fill up half way. It will overflow once you lay in the tub if there's too much water. Add additional water once you are inside the tub if you need the water level higher.
3. Tune a radio to some soothing music. Suggestions include classical music or a CD with nature and other soothing sounds that will set your relaxing mood. If you have a small light above the bath tub, put that on instead of the bright light. If you do not have dim light, place a candle near the tub.
4. Dissipate a bag of bath pearls throughout the warm to hot water inside the tub. The beads are usually package in one-time-use sizes. Use your judgment, based on personal preference if you are unsure how many beads to place in the water. Let the beads begin to dissolve for one minute. With the mood set, lay down in the bath tub with a bath pillow if available and let the bath pearls surround you in aroma and moisturize your skin. Some pearls will dissolve faster than others.
