Find Healing Pressure Points

Reflexology is the art of applying gentle pressure to specific points on the hands, feet and ears in order to improve general health and promote relaxation. By channeling the movement of energy throughout the body, finding and pressing pressure points can eliminate toxins, improve circulation, accelerate healing and balance or energize the body. What's even better--you don't have to be an expert practitioner to find these healing pressure points.

Instructions

1. To heal lung dysfunction, press the knuckles of your fist against the ball of the foot at the base of the toes.

2. For shoulder stress or discomfort, lightly pinch the outside of the foot, as you walk your thumb up to the little toe.

3. To relieve neck tension, use your thumb and fingers to "walk" around the entire bottom of the foot following the line at the base of the toes. Then grab the toe ridge at the base of the toes, and pull the ball of the foot downward.

4. To heal the neck and head, place each toe between the flat of your hands, and use a back and forth sawing motion to rock the toe from side to side.

5. For sinus pressure or eye strain, hold the foot with one hand while you thumb-walk the bottom of each toe with the other, starting from the top and moving down.

6. For pituitary disorders, put your thumb into a hook position, and push from the middle of each toe toward the outside of the foot.

7. For spinal discomfort, thumb-walk up the outside of each foot's arch, starting with the heel and ending in the middle of the big toe. Pressing the back of your hand against the bottom of the foot, thumb-walk down again.

8. To relieve kidney dysfunction, press your thumbnail into the center point (the kidney point) of each foot, and rotate the entire foot toward the inside with your other hand.

9. To heal the adrenal glands, move the thumb to slightly above and inside of the middle of the foot, and press as you rotate the foot outward.

10. To relax the entire body, place the foot between your two open palms, and rock it back and forth between your hands.

11. To relax the solar plexus, press your thumbs just below the balls of the feet, into the fleshy part of the skin.
