Remove Skin From Chicken

Whether you are cooking for a low-fat diet, personal taste or the newest recipe you want to try, there are times when knowing skin a chicken will come in handy.

Instructions

1. Thoroughly rinse a whole raw chicken under warm water.

2. Place the chicken breast-side down on a cutting board. Pull up the skin at the neck. With a sharp knife, make an incision from the neck all the way down the backbone to the rear end. Be careful not to slice into the meat.

3. Hold the neck area with one hand. Use your other hand to grab hold of the skin and pull it away from the neck, one side at a time.

4. Use your sharp knife to remove the wings. Continue gently peeling the skin away until you reach the thighs and legs.

5. Cut the skin away from the drumstick on each end, using kitchen shears. Next, use your sharp knife to slice the skin away from the meat. Use your shears to clean up and remove any extra skin. You are now ready to try out that new dish you saw on the Cooking Channel!
