Know If One Is Growing Taller

Sometimes when we are waiting to grow taller, it can seem like we aren't growing at all. Everyone gains height differently, but in general, boys experience growth spurts, and girls have slow and steady height gain. Most girls stop growing between the ages of 16 and 18. Boys sometimes continue growing until 21.

Instructions

1. Choose a doorway or a spot on a wall to use to measure your progress. Stand in your bare feet with your heels pressed against the wall. Place a ruler flat on the top of your head, and use a pen to mark the spot. You can return to this area every month to mark and monitor your growing. You might want to also write the date near the mark.

2. Use masking tape to mark the spots on the doorway or wall if you do not want to leave permanent marks. Use a pen or pencil to write the date on the masking tape.

3. Pay attention to the length of you pants and your shirt sleeves. When you are actively growing, you might notice that your pants get too short before they wear out and the sleeves on your long-sleeve shirts no longer make it to your wrist.

4. Notice the feel of your shoes. If your toes are starting to feel crowded in shoes that were fitting well, your feet are growing. If your feet are growing, you are getting taller.
