Make Tea Tree Oil Mouthwash

There are many mystery ingredients in the average mouthwash. Natural mouthwash is often made without the mystery ingredients, but it usually cost a bit more than the average tight budget can handle. Making your own homemade mouthwash can make you feel better knowing what is going into you mouthwash and keeping within your budget.

This is an easy alcohol-free recipe for tea tree oil mouthwash. Tea tree oil is a great mouthwash ingredient, as it has been shown to help fight gingivitis.

Instructions

1. In a bowl or other container add:

1 1/4 cups mineral or distilled water (base)

5 drops peppermint oil (flavor)

5 drops tea-tree oil (anti-bacterial, helps fight gingivitis)

a pinch of stevia (sweetener)

xylitol can be used in place of stevia as a sweetener.

2. Pour the combined ingredients into a container that has a lid.

An old mouthwash container is a perfect choice.

3. Put the lid tightly on the container. Shake well.

4. Swish around your mouth and spit out. Use after each brushing or as often as needed.
