When most people think about unwanted weight gain, they think of the common problem areas: waist, thighs, and buttocks. A spot that is as important as any other trouble area, but often overlooked, is the face. Your face is as susceptible to weight gain as any other part of your body. And more importantly, it is also practically impossible to hide unwanted face fat. Follow these simple steps to begin to tone your face.
Instructions
1. Drink nine eight-ounce glasses of water each day. Your body retains water when you do not drink enough of it. This will lead to water retention in your face. For a boost of flavor, add lemon or lime juice to your water.
2. Perform facial exercises. To slim your chin, extend your bottom lip out and up, attempting to raise it over your top lip. Hold for 10 seconds. Perform 10 times daily.
3. Eat three servings of fruits and three servings of vegetables a day. Fruits and vegetables are high in fiber, which makes you feel full. They also have a significant amount of water within them, which will help you avoid bloating, as discussed above.
4. Increase your calcium intake. Strive to ingest 1,200 mg of calcium daily. Calcium can be found naturally in dairy products. If calculating your calcium intake from dairy proves to be too difficult, simply take calcium supplements. Calcium supplements can be found at your local grocery or drug store.
5. Avoid alcohol. Alcohol dehydrates your body and is high in calories. It is also a depressant, so if you are an emotional eater beware. The more depressed you feel, the more you may eat. The more your eat, the more likely that you will put on extra weight, rather than taking it off.
