Treat High Estrogen Levels

High estrogen levels are expected during certain times in a woman's life. Those times are when she is pregnant, when she is going through her menstrual cycle and after she undergoes estrogen replacement therapy.At other times, high estrogen levels should be a concern for women. There are many health problems that are associated with having high estrogen levels. Some of these problems are migraines, weight gain, high blood pressure, fatigue, PMS, muscle aches, fibroids, depression, and aging skin.Besides these health problems, there are serious, life-threatening conditions that can occur for a woman with high estrogen levels. These conditions include reproductive cancers, blood clots, strokes, gall bladder disease, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Therefore, it is imperative that a woman learns treat high levels of estrogen in her body. Here are some ways a woman can reduce her estrogen level.

1. Eat a low-fat diet. Studies reveal that maintaining a low-fat, vegetarian diet stabilizes estrogen levels for woman. In countries where woman avoid fatty diets and mostly eat vegetables, there are not a lot of women with breast cancer. Women should avoid highly processed foods and high-fat foods to lower estrogen levels. Women should eat more raw fruit, and natural, organic whole foods.








2. Increase fiber intake. A woman should increase her fiber intake to 30 grams per day. Fiber is found in plant foods such as peas, soybeans, oats, rye, plums, berries, broccoli, carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and onions. Other fiber is found in whole grain foods, bran, nuts, seeds, cauliflower, zucchini and celery. A woman should make sure these foods are a part of her daily diet to decrease her estrogen levels.


3. Reduce stress. Women should make sure to eliminate the stress in their lives. They should take some time to relax and enjoy life and ensure that they get enough sleep every night so they can feel rested. Reducing stress can lower estrogen levels.


4. Reduce alcohol and caffeine consumption. Drinking alcohol and caffeinated drinks, such as coffee and soda, are believed to raise estrogen levels. Women should drink less alcohol or no alcohol at all.


5. Exercise regularly. Exercising can help a person maintain a healthy weight. This can also lower a person's estrogen level. A woman should schedule a time to exercise regularly, whether it is jogging in the morning or going to the gym a couple of times a week.
