How Should You Cleanse A Bloodstone

Bloodstone is the stone for the month of March.

Deeper than forest green, bloodstone -- or heliotrope -- partly earned its name from the blood-like flecks of red that pepper its appearance. Bloodstone is rooted in folklore. New Age healers credit the stone with curative properties including, blood detoxifier, confidence boosting and dream aid. Others claim it protects against curses. According to the Gen Trade Net website, good quality bloodstone is difficult to find. As with any healing stones, like crystals, users cleanse bloodstones to purify it of negative energy.

Instructions

1. Use a glass or stoneware bowl to cleanse bloodstone. Pour enough purified water in the bowl to cover the stones you want to clean.

2. Add a squeeze of mild dish soap. Swish the water to make suds.

3. Wet a soft-bristled brush in the soapy water. Brush the stone all around with a gentle sweeping motion.

4. Rinse the bloodstone thoroughly. Dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
