Breathe While Power Walking

Power walking requires rhythmic breathing.

Taking long, quick strides and allowing your arms to move freely from the front to the back of your body to help propel you are actions utilized while power walking. When power walking, as with any exercise, you should breathe properly so that you can experience the most benefit and avoid losing your breath. While not as second nature as your regular respiration, with a bit of concentration, you can learn breathe efficiently while power walking.

Instructions

1. Warm up to your power walking pace. Don't try to begin a fast walking pace as soon as you start exercising or you may strain a muscle or become out of breath.

2. Inhale deeply through your nose for three strides -- right, left, right -- and then exhale the air slowly through your mouth on the next three strides.

3. Continue inhaling and exhaling every three strides during entire power walking session to push the maximum amount of oxygen throughout your system.
