When a food has less or no fat in it, there are almost always fewer calories. Whether you're interested in a healthy lifestyle or trying to lose weight, including fat-free foods in your diet will keep you on track.
Fruits and Vegetables
Grapes, banana, strawberry, blueberry, watermelon, honeydew, apples, pears, pomegranate, potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, winter squash and green beans all have no fat.
Grains
Grains are naturally fat free, but only if fat isn't added in the cooking process. Risotto, wheat, polenta, millet, oatmeal, rice, and couscous are all fat free. Many bakery, store and homemade breads can be made without fat or with little fat.
Dairy
Many dairy foods are fat free and still taste good: yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, ice cream, frozen yogurt and, of course, milk
Snacks
Chips cooked in Olestra, fat-free pretzels, popcorn, cookies such as Fig Newtons, fat-free varieties of ice cream and frozen treats, and salsa with fat-free chips are good fat-free snacks.
Drinks
Sodas are fat free, but regular soda has a lot of calories and no nutrition. No-sugar-added fruit juice is a good fat-free option. Fat-free chocolate syrup can be added to skim milk to help satisfy a sweet tooth.
