Silver Surfer Games For Kids

If your kids are Fantastic Four fanatics, you'll have no trouble keeping them busy with Silver Surfer-themed games. Whether you indulge in a special toy store purchase for the occasion or simply use inexpensive household items to create your own fun, the superhero should be able to help rescue your kids from boredom on a rainy afternoon.

Video Games

If you aren't bothered by your kids being glued to a TV or computer screen for a few hours, playing a Silver Surfer video game could fit the game day bill. Making his digital debut in November 1990 for Nintendo, the Silver Surfer isn't new to the video game world. However, that particular game is notorious for its level of incredible difficulty; unless you've got older children who enjoy a challenge, stick to a more recent title like "Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer," recommended for ages 10 and up, and available for a variety of platforms, including the Nintendo DS and PlayStation 3.

Critical Thinking Games

Give your kids' brains a workout with some games that lean toward the educational end of the spectrum. Test their knowledge of the Silver Surfer with a trivia challenge; you could invent your own questions, or you could get your ideas from pre-existing trivia games like the quizzes available at FunTrivia.com listed under "Silver Surfer." Other games that should help exercise your kids' craniums could include a variety of puzzles like crosswords or word searches, or the more tangible option of a Silver Surfer-themed jigsaw puzzle.

Board Games

A board game is a good multiplayer option if you've got several children to entertain. Many of the available board games incorporate other Marvel Comics heroes into the plot, so your kids may have to take turns acting as the Silver Surfer. For instance, in Hasbro's Heroscape, recommended for ages 8 and up, there are nine other hero and villain characters to choose from aside from the Silver Surfer; these include famous figures like the Incredible Hulk and Doctor Doom. The game features a battle scenario in which the superheroes and villains wage war against one another for victory over the city.

Creating Your Own Game

When it comes down to it, kids have a track record for quickly losing interest in games and toys; of investing your money in a manufactured product, try creating your own game right at home for little or no money. Get your kids involved in the game creation process to flex their creative muscles, and to ensure they get a kick out of the game you create. Whether you create your own Silver Surfer themed board or card game, construct crafty Silver Surfer action figures to use in a mini-battle, or design your own superhero costumes for an interactive game of make-believe, you'll be able to inexpensively control which elements are included in gameplay.
