Stretch Mark Removal Surgery Cost

Stretch marks appear for many reasons: growth spurts, weight gain, rapid weight loss and rapid muscle growth, to name a few. Though many creams and natural remedies claim to take care of the unsightly problem, they are often a letdown for those desperate for perfect skin. The answer? Surgical removal of the stretch marks. Cost will vary depending on the doctor and extent of the procedure. For many, however, it is worth it.

Laser Stretch Mark Removal

This method begins at around $200 per treatment. Multiple treatments are usually required for the appearance of stretch marks to be diminished.

Tummy Tuck

This surgical procedure is the most costly option for removing stretch marks, but it has added benefits: tightened stomach muscles and removal of excess skin. Surgery costs range from $3,000 to $8,500.

Alternative Treatments

Microdermabrasion costs $75 to $150 a session, while chemical peels cost $75 to $600 a session. Again, these methods generally require more than one treatment to achieve the desired result.

Insurance

Because stretch marks do not pose a health risk, most insurance companies do not cover the cost of the procedure.

Financing

Many plastic surgeons offer financing through companies such as Care Credit and My Medical Loan.
