Free Home Remedy For Hair Growth

Though it is natural to lose a handful of hair each day, when that handful leads to tufts or clumps, you start to worry about thinning hair. In such cases and for those who have less hair on their head, there are a few homemade remedies that might help the situation.

Scalp Massage Remedies

The most basic home remedy is massage with coconut oil. Rub your scalp intensely in circular motions with coconut oil. Wash your hair afterwards. The massaging motion helps enhance blood circulation that aids in hair growth, while the coconut oil provides nutrients and minerals that guard the hair follicle. You can also take three to four cups of coconut oil and boil it with some amla, available in any Indian grocery store. Filter and store for scalp massages three times a week for hair growth stimulation and hair loss prevention. In case you cannot find amla, use coconut milk, in which case you do not have to boil it. Just pour fresh coconut milk--not the canned variety--on your scalp and massage gently. Keep it on for at least 30 minutes and then shampoo it out. A mixture of castor oil and coconut oil is also a great tonic for scalp massage to improve growth of hair. Leave the mixture on your hair for about an hour before washing off. (Castor oil is a sticky, heavy substance, so apply it in moderation.) Massaging the scalp with almond oil can promote hair growth and prevent hair loss, too. One of the commonest hair growth remedies on the Indian subcontinent is to boil a cup of mustard oil with four tbsp. of dried or fresh henna leaves. This mixture is then filtered into a bottle and used for a daily scalp massage. This remains one of the most trusted methods to stimulate the hair follicles into growing.

Other Home Remedies

Make a juice from the leaves of alfalfa and fresh spinach and drink it every day. This provides nutrients to maintain your hair's health and strength apart and is good for your entire immune system. Another hair growth remedy is shampoo that contains silica, which can stimulate hair growth, prevent hair loss, and also give you stronger nails and bones.

Healthy Practices

For healthy hair and reduction of split ends, get your hair trimmed every couple of months. This also promotes faster growth. Include plenty of green vegetables in your daily meals and avoid tobacco and alcohol. Wash your hair no more than two or three times a week and do not use too many styling products, as these can rob the hair of its vital natural oils.
