There's a great deal of advice out there on end your menstrual cycle sooner. Some people claim that a warm bath and two aspirins can bring a quick end to your periods. Others attest that a cup of tea and a strategically placed hot pad will halt the flow. The problem with these tips is that, although they may ease pain or discomfort (which isn't a bad thing), they don't really take into account the reason why a woman has a menstrual cycle. In fact, there's only one surefire way to end your menstrual cycle sooner, and it involves you essentially getting ahead of it.
Instructions
1. Consult with a health professional, especially if you are experiencing longer than normal or unusually heavy flows. This may be a symptom of a serious health problem.
2. Get a prescription for birth control pills. Many women who take birth control generally experience shorter and lighter menstrual cycles. However, just taking a pill will not automatically end your menstrual cycle sooner. You'll need to let the birth control actually get into your system. Give it a month or two.
3. Start taking a multivitamin. While this will not end your menstrual cycle sooner, a daily vitamin has been known to "lighten" a woman's periods.
4. Keep fit. Taking part in a fitness program can alleviate some of the symptoms often accompanying menstruation. This may not end your cycle sooner, but it will make you healthier, and a healthier body will by and large have a healthier cycle of menstruation.
5. Adhere to a healthy diet. Much like exercise, a well-balanced diet can help keep your periods lighter.
