Naturally Treat Add

Naturally Treat ADD

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a serious concern for millions of parents. They know their children are bright and have a lot to offer the world, but restlessness, distraction and poor performance in school can all conspire to make them feel hopeless. Worse still are some of the potential treatments for ADD, many of which include using drugs with powerful and often deadly side effects. There are ways, however, to naturally treat ADD.

Instructions

Treat ADD Naturally

1. Change your child's diet. Believe it or not, your child's diet plays a noticeable role on the presence and severity of ADD. If she is not eating enough or is eating too much (or too much of a bad thing), that is going to have an effect on her mentally as well as physically.

2. Encourage your child to get plenty of exercise. Exercise helps to release an abundance of energy and help to let your child focus when she needs to.

3. Talk to your child regularly about how he feels and how he is doing. Naturally, you are also going to want to talk to your child's teachers and anyone else with whom he associates on a daily basis. This will help you to assess what additional steps must be taken to treat his ADD.

4. Use behavior management techniques to help change the way your child acts as a result of ADD. Positive reinforcement and patient correction are cornerstones of behavior management, as is consistency.

5. Help your child develop good study and work habits. This can often involve simple repetition of desired behaviors, or it could be as complex as setting up a fully detailed date book or organizer. Discipline (not punishment) is one of the most effective tools you can use to naturally treat ADD.
