Make Herbal Remedies For Gout

Make Herbal Remedies for Gout

Gout is an extremely painful condition in which uric acid crystals accumulate in the joints and tissues of the body. Traditional gout medications are expensive, have severe side effects, and often aren't effective in treating the condition. Luckily, there are a number of herbal remedies known to successfully treat gout which are less expensive, healthy and don't come with the severe side effects.

Instructions

1. Prevent gout by eating a healthy diet that includes plenty of exercise, water and fresh fruits and vegetables, the most important ingredient in herbal remedies. Foods particularly helpful for the prevention of gout include blueberries, cherries, soy, olive oil and salmon.

2. Include as much Vitamin C in your diet as possible, which helps lower uric acid levels in the body. Foods that are rich in Vitamin C include cantaloupe, oranges, broccoli, brussel sprouts and green peppers.

3. Take 2 to 3 tsps. of black cherry juice during an inflammation of gout. Cherries contain high levels of flavonoids, which help the body to eliminate uric acid from the system, relieving and preventing gout.

4. Make a charcoal poultice to draw toxins from gout affected areas. Mix a half a cup of powdered activated charcoal with two tablespoons of flaxseed and add just enough hot water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the affected area and cover with a cloth or plastic wrap. Change the poultice every four hours, but leave it on throughout the night.

5. Drink as much rosehip tea as you like to get sufficient liquid and purify the blood. Boil 1 cup of water and remove from heat before adding one teaspoon of rosehips. Allow the tea to steep for five minutes before straining and drinking. Other teas useful in herbal remedies for gout include yarrow, peppermint and sarsaparilla.
