Fruits Containing Vitamin B

The B vitamins are very important to the proper functioning of the body. The B vitamin complex is made up of a collection of vitamins, the most important being vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12. Eating fruits that contain a variety of B vitamins will ensure that you will be getting the right amount of B vitamins.

Vitamin B1

Vitamin B1 can be found in watermelons. Watermelons also contain vitamins B3 and B6, so eating watermelon can be a great way to receive a lot of the B vitamins at once.

Vitamin B2

Kiwi is high in vitamin B2 and can easily be packed in a lunchbox as a snack.

Vitamin B3

Vitamin B3 can be found in peaches, bananas and cantaloupe, which are generally available year-round in most supermarkets.

Vitamin B5

Vitamin B5 is found in bananas and oranges, which together are a tasty combination for smoothies.

Vitamin B6

Watermelon and bananas contain high levels of vitamin B6 and make the perfect summertime energy booster.

Vitamin B9

You can find vitamin B9 in blackberries and strawberries. Blackberries and strawberries are also high in vitamin C.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is extremely important, and many people can become deficient in this vitamin, especially the elderly. Unfortunately, there are no fruits that contain B12. By eating plenty of meats and oily fish such as salmon and snapper you can make sure that you are getting this important B vitamin.
