Tea Detox Information

Drinking tea is a great way to detoxify the body.


When planning to do a detox, one of the easiest ways to assist the body in flushing out unwanted toxins is to include a range of teas that support the body's cleansing organs, increase systemic antioxidants and provide extra nutrition.


Liver Tea


Dandelion roots help to stimulate the liver for detoxification.


Different herbal medicines are capable of stimulating the liver to work to a greater capacity. Some of these include dandelion root, milk thistle seed, globe artichoke leaves, schisandra fruit and yellow dock root. These can be taken individually or mixed together for a complex that will support, stimulate and heal liver tissues.


Kidney Tea








Goldenrod is a diuretic that helps to cleanse the body.


Many of the toxins circulating in our bodies are removing from the blood via the kidneys and urine, so it is important to make sure these perform optimally. Specific kidney-supporting plants include bearberry leaves, dandelion leaves, goldenrod leaves, nettle leaves, horsetail leaves and crataeva leaves.


Digestive Tea


Fennel seeds improve overall digestion and can be made into a predinner tea.


Digesting our food thoroughly is one way to ensure our bodies are free of toxins, as poorly digested food may irritate the digestive system and increase the risk of food sensitivities. Herbs that warm up the digestive system are black pepper seeds, ginger root, fennel seeds, aniseed, angelica root, gentian root, peppermint leaves and chamomile flowers.


Dosage


Drink tea 30 minutes before meals to improve digestion and detoxification.


When making up a tea for detoxification, you can use 1 tsp. of the selected herb or herbal mixture and pour a cup of boiling water over top. Allowing it to steep for several minutes will make sure it is strong. Drink half an hour before each meal.
