Types Of Joint Pain

Joint pain can debilitate a person. It can make it harder to do basic things like walking and writing. The causes of joint pain include injury, strain, sprain and infections. Some infections that cause joint pain and discomfort include viral infections, colds, the flu and bacterial infection.


Arthritis


Arthritis is one of the most common types of joint pain there is. There are many different types of arthritis including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and psoriatic arthritis just to name a few. The most common symptoms of arthritis include joint pain, joint stiffness, joint tenderness and joint swelling.


Gout


Gout is one of the most painful joint ailments there is. It usually attacks the big toe and occurs from deposits of uric acid in the connective tissues. Symptoms include joint pain, joint swelling, joint redness and joint warmth.


Tendonitis


Tendonitis is the inflammation of the tendons caused by overuse or injury. The symptoms include joint pain on movement, joint swelling and joint warmth.


Bursitis


Bursitis happens when there is inflammation of the bursae, or small, fluid filled sacs that help decrease friction between bones and other structures in the joints. Symptoms include joint pain when moving the joint, joint stiffness, joint warmth and joint swelling.


Charcot Joint


Charcot joint is a degeneration of a stress bearing joint. Symptoms include arthritis like symptoms such as joint pain, joint swelling, and joint stiffness as well as nerve problems.
