Uses For Wheatgrass Juice

Wheatgrass juice is a health drink derived from juicing grass from the common wheat plant. Freshly juiced and consumed, it provides a superior source of vitamins, amino acids, chlorophyll, enzymes and minerals.

Daily

Adding a 1- or 2-oz. glass of wheatgrass juice to your daily regimen can promote a wide variety of health benefits including detoxifying and cleansing the digestive system, expelling toxins and added energy. Due to its high chlorophyll content, the substance in plants that converts plant nutrients and sunlight into energy, it is sometimes referred to as liquid sunshine.

Health

Wheatgrass when taken regularly is known to promote very good vascular health. It can produce increased heart function, lower high blood pressure and increase hemoglobin production from the chlorophyll. It can also be used as a mouth rinse to relieve toothache or as a gargle to relieve a sore throat.

Cleansing

Wheatgrass juice is very effective when launching a fasting diet. Make sure to drink plenty of water during a fast as well. Its cleansing effects can also be seen when used in an enema or douche. It is known as a substance that helps cleanse toxins from the body.

First Aid

As a treatment for minor burns and sunburns, wheatgrass is highly effective. Soak cloths in it and apply directly to the burn for relief. It is also a similarly effective treatment for cuts, scrapes and abrasions.

Cosmetic

There are a variety of cosmetic uses including, but not limited to hair conditioner and scalp and/or dandruff treatment. It is used often as a treatment for eczema and can even be used as a facial thanks to its ability to tighten skin and close the pores.

Expiration

Make sure to drink or use your wheatgrass very soon after juicing as it can lose its effectiveness and even go bad within about 12 hours.
