Strengthen Your Memory

There are many ways that you can work to empower your memory as you get older. My article is focused on telling you ways to do that so you can not only improve the memory, but become even smarter.

Instructions

1. Reading is one of the best things anyone can do for the strength of their memory. Reading a book makes you follow the characters, and envision their lives. It also forces you to remember events that happened in the story, thereby increasing your thinking too.

2. Learning a new skill or skills is always an excellent idea. Why not take up playing the piano or another musical instrument? Playing the piano requires memorization of reading music properly so you can play well. Also, musical theory is part of learning piano, and that does take a lot of thinking and practice to learn and apply it.

3. It is important that you get a good night's sleep! Resting helps the mind to rejuvenate, and therefore will sharpen your thinking skills for the next day.

4. Eating many green leafy vegetables helps the brain with memory. This is due to the fact the vegetables and also fruits have many antioxidants in them along with phytochemicals that work on neurotransmitters in the brain.

5. Do crossword puzzles or get together with friends to play word games such as Scrabble or Boggle. These things make you think and concentrate all of the time. And the more you use your brain to concentrate, the better it is so that it doesn't become slack. Any activity that makes you think hard is excellent!
