Make Diffusion Lamp Oil

Diffusion oils can enhance the aroma of your room, while relaxing your mind and body. Depending on the quality of oils purchased, this form of aromatherapy can get quite expensive. Avoid excessive costs and enjoy custom fragrances by creating your own diffusion oil. This guide outlines several ways to create diffusion oil.

Instructions

1. Use liquid potpourri as diffusion oil. Purchase liquid potpourri at your local craft store. Optionally, you can create your own liquid potpourri using two cups of distilled water, four packages of gelatin and 12 drops of essential oils. Boil one cup of water and stir in the remaining water, gelatin and essential oils. Store liquid potpourri in a glass container and allow it to set overnight before using.

2. Mix 12 drops of essential oils of your choosing with 1/4 cup of water and 1 tbsp. of vodka. Any combination of essential oil is possible, so tailor your fragrance to suit your preferences. Any type of plain vodka will work. Store excess diffusion oil in a glass container.

3. Mix 1/4 cup of mineral oil (or sweet almond oil) with 12 drops of your choice of essential oils. Store excess diffusion oil in a glass container.

4. Mix three parts essential oils of your choosing with seven parts dipropylene glycol, fragrance grade. If your local craft store does not carry dipropylene glycol, purchase it online. Store excess diffusion oil in a glass container.
