Minerva is the hidden boss in Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core. She is the equivalent of the Monster bosses in other final fantasies in that her stats are almost maxed out. To beat her, you have to grind for the best materia in the game. While it is not necessary to defeat her to win the main story of FFVII, many players find the extra boss to be the most satisfying part of the gameplay.
Instructions
Beat the Hidden Boss in Final Fantasy Crisis Core
1. Beat all the previous missions in the 9th group to gain access to Minerva.
2. Gather the following items by beating previous missions: Genji Shield (or Protect Ring), Genji Armor, Genji Glove, and Genji Helm (or Ziedrich). Simply playing through the missions required to get to Minerva will make these items available.
3. Start your materia with a Curaga with +999% HP. It will take some time to gather the items necessary to fuse Curaga to this level, so be prepared to grind.
4. Use Costly Punch materia. Max it out with +999% AP or +99 ATK.
5. Use a Steal or Mug materia. You can steal 99 Phoenix Downs from Minerva, which will be useful to keep ReRaise cast on yourself.
6. Use an SP Master Materia. Be sure you have plenty of SP saved before the battle.
7. Use any materia that will raise your remaining stats to 255 for the other two slots. Luck is the least necessary, but it can do you good. Otherwise, be sure that all your materia are giving you maximum stats.
8. During the actual fight, use Costly Punch as often as you can.
9. Keep ReRaise cast on yourself.
10. When she casts Ultima, you must block or you will die.
11. Keep your HP above 65000.
12. Outlast her, keep using Costly Punch, block when she attacks, and with the above materia and accessories equipped, you will win.
