Mosquitoes are not Attracted to LED Lights.
Mosquitoes are attracted to fluorescent lights and other ultraviolet light sources. Light Emitting Diodes (LED) do not produce ultraviolet light, and therefore mosquitoes are not attracted to them. This makes LED lighting perfect for outside activities.
Temperatures Mosquitoes Prefer
Mosquitoes thrive in temperatures around 80 degrees F. Since LED lights do not produce heat, nor attract mosquitoes, they are the perfect summer lighting choice.
Quiet Lighting
LED lighting is quiet, without the humming and noise of fluorescent lights. This makes it easier to hear when a mosquito is near and buzzing around you.
Inside and Outside Lighting
Stand-alone LED lighting is available for both indoor and outdoor usage, which will prevent the attraction of mosquitoes wherever you are.
LED Street Lights
In Germany, some communities are replacing their street lights with LED lighting for environmental reasons, cost benefits and the fact that mosquitoes are not attracted to LED lighting.
Carbon Dioxide Attraction
Mosquitoes are attracted to the heat and carbon dioxide expelled from humans and animals. LED lighting does not emit carbon dioxide as other lighting does, which is another reason LED lighting does not attract mosquitoes.
