Get Taller Faster

Your growth is regulated by a hormone called Human Growth Hormone (HGH). Once your body stops producing this hormone, you stop growing. People reach their maximum height in puberty. Massage techniques like rolfing can help you gain an inch in height just by correcting your posture as can stretching exercises, but--once puberty ends--the only way to increase your height sufficiently is by getting painful leg lengthening surgery.

Instructions

1. Eat a balanced diet that includes a variety of foods. Eating a variety of foods ensures that you get all the nutrients your body needs.

2. Make sure you consume enough calcium from dairy products and dark leafy vegetables. The calcium will encourage bone strength and development.

3. Get plenty of omega 3 fatty acids. You can get these fats from oily fish like salmon and mackerel, nuts, flaxseeds, and flexseed oil.

4. Avoid processed sugar. When you want something sweet, reach for a banana instead of a candy bar.

5. Get enough sleep. As a teenager, your bodily clock gets a little out of whack. You tend to stay up too late and still have to get up early for school. Getting too little sleep is not going to help you in the growth department. Your body does most of its growing during sleeping hours. It's then that it has the time to generate tissue and increase height. While the average adult needs 8 hours of sleep a day, the average teen needs 10. Getting a full 10 hours sleep every night will encourage growth.

6. Exercise regularly. Doing cardiovascular exercises as an adolescent actually helps your pituitary gland secrete more HGH. Stretching exercises also help encourage growth.

7. Relax. Stress will cause your pituitary gland to secrete less HGH. Learn mange stress. Try mediation and relaxation exercises.
