Life Alert is a manufacturer of personal emergency alert devices, well known for the famous tag line "Help! I've fallen and I can't get up!" The device is available as a pendant or wristwatch with an emergency button that, when activated, contacts a 24-hour monitoring center. If the personal emergency button is triggered, a Life Alert dispatcher can contact you immediately and call for help. The company also offers smoke and carbon monoxide detector monitoring and will contact emergency services for you if smoke, fire or high levels of carbon monoxide are detected in your home.

Instructions

1. Call Life Alert at 1-800-360-0329 and request a brochure. The brochure will explain the different Life Alert services available as well as the costs associated with the service.

2. Determine the level of service that you need. The Life Alert Classic plan includes an emergency alert device, smoke and carbon monoxide monitoring and a special cell phone with a large button programmed to dial 911. The Life Alert 50+ plan is for younger adults and includes the same services as the classic plan, except for the cell phone. Instead, it includes an audio alert system that allows you to easily contact a dispatcher in case of a home invasion.

3. Call Life Alert, using the phone number on the brochure, and place your order for the Life Alert system of your choice. Delivery can take up to two weeks and may require a signature, depending on the shipping option you selected.
