Men'S Health And High Blood Pressure Symptoms

Keeping a man's blood pressure at a healthy level will inevitably help keep him in good shape. When he lets his blood pressure elevate to a systolic of over 120 or a diastolic of over 80, he begins to encroach on prehypertension and hypertension, which is just another term for high blood pressure. While many men will not feel any true symptoms when they have high blood pressure, it will still begin to affect their health. However, just because symptoms are not common doesn't necessarily mean men won't actually face them.

So pay attention to what your body may be telling you. It doesn't hurt to get regular checkups to monitor the health of your blood pressure. Don't just wait for these symptoms to get your blood pressure under control.

Headaches

Many men who have high blood pressure will begin to experience relatively dull to severe headaches. They may be frequent, even daily headaches, but generally the intensity of the headache will be in direct correlation to the stage of hypertension.

Fatigue

Since the heart is basically working harder than normal, a man with high blood pressure will eventually begin to feel fatigued or exhausted.

Dizziness

Some men that are prehypertensive may begin to experience some dizziness or lightheadedness. These will be only periodic episodes, not a persistent feeling.

Pain

Men who have high blood pressure may suffer from one of the most troubling symptoms of this condition, which is chest pain. This doesn't necessarily mean having a heart attack, but the heart may be in distress.

Rhythm

Another common symptom in stage II hypertension is a change in the rhythm or beating of the heart. This may manifest as an irregular or uneven heartbeat.

Breathing

As the heart continues to work at this heightened level, some men will also find themselves short of breath or get winded rather easily.

Impaired Vision

If a man has fairly high blood pressure, as would be seen in stage II hypertension, he may also experience some visual impairment, either blurred or fuzzy.
