Locate The Reflexology Appendix Zone

Locate the Reflexology Appendix Zone

Reflexology is the practice of manipulating one part of the body to produce a beneficial effect in another part of the body. The feet are by far the most common area used, but the hands and ears are sometimes targeted as well. Charts are available that show how specific parts of the foot correspond to other parts of the body. Here's locate the reflexology appendix zone.

Instructions

1. Decide which reflexology chart you wish to use. There are several different ones available and there is a significant variation in the location of the body parts, including the appendix. In all of the charts, however, the appendix zone is quite small and located on the bottom of the foot.

2. Use a reflexology chart written by Dr. Steve Saran in 1979. This chart shows the appendix zone on the left foot. It is directly below the little toe, halfway between the balls of the feet and the heel where the arch is the highest.

3. Find the appendix zone with a reflexology chart commonly used in Australia. This chart shows the appendix zone located on the left foot. It is below the small toe and just above the heel.

4. Look at a reflexology chart created by Mildred Carter in 1998. This chart does not specifically show the appendix but does have a map of the colon on the right foot. The part corresponding to the appendix is between the third and fourth toe just above the heel.

5. Manipulate the appendix zone. This area is important in reflexology because it is believed that the appendix aids in digestion, provides lubrication for the colon and controls lymphatic functions.
