Get Rid Of Acid Reflux Naturally

Acid reflux is a condition that is caused by digestive stomach acid irritating or eroding the throat and stomach. If it is persistent or worrisome, your doctor may diagnose you with GERD or gastroesophageal reflux disease. A common side effect of acid reflux is heartburn, which is generally described as a dull, burning sensation in the chest. Other symptoms may include nausea, regurgitation (sour taste in the back of your throat), bloating and chest pain.

Instructions

Elimination

1. Eliminate citrus fruits, tomatoes and cranberries from your diet. They are high in acid and can cause or worsen heartburn.

2. Eliminate caffeine from your diet. Caffeine is a known cause of heartburn.

3. Avoid overeating. The more space food takes up in your stomach, the less room there is for digestive acids to work.

4. Eliminate fried and fatty foods from your diet. They can slow digestion down, which increases pressure as well.

5. Avoid drinking alcohol. Alcohol causes the lower esophageal sphincter to relax which can allow more stomach contents to absorb into the esophagus.

Home Remedies

6. Drink more water. Water reduces and normalizes the pH of stomach acid.

7. Drink apple cider. Apple cider is used for many gastrointestinal illnesses because it helps calm the stomach and aids in digestion.

8. Add a pinch of cumin to your water or boil cumin seeds in water at mealtime. It can help prevent gas from forming.

9. Consume milk products during an episode of acid reflux. Milk products are known to absorb some of the acid, reducing the severity of symptoms.

10. Take 2 teaspoons of white vinegar with meals. Vinegar aids in digestion and helps to control the amount of acid in the stomach.
