Lose 10 Percent Body Weight

"Diet" doesn't have to be a dirty word. Here is an easy way to lose 10 percent of body weight with very little effort. Keep in mind that you didn't gain the weight overnight, so it's not going to come off that way. Commit to this plan and you will see a slender body in no time.

Instructions

1. Divide your current weight by 10 and that number is the goal. For instance, if you weigh 150 lbs., 10 percent is 15 lbs. Make a pledge to not weigh yourself more than once a week. Normal weight fluctuates every day and not seeing that scale budge can be frustrating.

2. Eat as you normally would, with three exceptions: Leave 10 percent of the food on your plate. Avoid second helpings. The only foods you can eat 100 percent of are vegetables, whole grains and fruits (and you can only eat 100 percent of these foods if you don't add fat, like mayo or butter).

3. Exercise 10 percent more. If you currently walk a mile a day, increase it by one-tenth. If you currently do 10 sets of 10 sit-ups, do 11 sets of six sit-ups. If you run one hour, add six minutes. If you go to yoga class for an hour, stretch it out another six minutes.

4. Drink 10 percent more water. Drink plain water, not juice or diet soda.
